Nizhny Novgorod state technical university has the developed infrastructure comprising 11 full-time, part-time evening and correspondence faculties, special faculty, military training faculty, regional center for retraining of military men.

The University includes 4 institutes: Institute of radio engineering and information technologies, Institute of manufacturing engineering technologies, Arzamas polytechnic institute and Dzershinsk polytechnic institute and three branches established in 2000: Zavolzhye branch, Vyksa branch and Pavlovo branch.

The University has 8 representative offices in the towns and districts of the Nizhny Novgorod region: Balakhna, Bogorodsk, Bor, Kstovo and industrial communities Vacha, Pervomaysk, Shahunya, Savasleyka.

168 Doctors of Science and full professors, 602 Ph. D. work for the University and its branches.

Now more than 27000 students of different forms of training study at the Technical University and its branches (more than 18000 at the Technical University), including foreign students from Morocco, Tanzania, Sudan, Jordan, USA, India, China. All nonresident students and postgraduate students are provided with lodging. NSTU has a student campus of its own comprising 4 hostels for 2400 accommodations, a hotel, cafeterias and bars, a prophylactic health center, fitness center, track and field and volleybal grounds.

Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University possesses an amateur sketch theater TEMP, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2004.

About 1500 students and staff of the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University can take a vacation and restore their health not only in the prophylactic health center but also in the health and sports resort "Zhdanovets", which is located in the pine forest on the Gorkovskoye sea-shore.

The accomodation is provided in cosy houses for 4 - 5 people.

The camp is situated on the picturesque coast of the Gorcy "sea".

Each summer from 1998 to 2006 a summer English language school was held.
