In April 2007 a delegation from Nizhny Novgorod region paid a visit to Japan. Rector of NSTU was one of the members of the delegation. As Mr. Siotani has reported, Japanese Tohoku University is interested in the development of cooperation between our universities.

This university, which is the third biggest university of Japan, celebrated its 100th anniversary. The delegation from Japan was formed by vice-president of Tohoku University prof. Kijima, prof. Tagaki, assistant professor Siotany and Mr. Siniti.

At the meeting with pro-rectors of NSTU, prof. Loskutov and prof. Dmitriev, different ways of cooperation, such as opportunities of internship, were discussed.
